Text Box: Services we offer: We offer a wide range of services to our patients: Routine appointments are available every day in the am & pm. Urgent appointments are available every day in the am & pm. If you need an urgent appointment you will be seen as soon as possible on that day. Please help the receptionists by telling them whether or not your problem is urgent. If you have not been seen at the surgery for three years (or one year for those over 75) you can request a check up appointment if you wish. We provide Telephone Consultations every morning and afternoon which can be pre-booked. We also offer early 07.30-08.30 pre-bookable appointments suitable for people that work and cannot make it to the Practice during normal appointment times. If you require a home visit, please try to telephone before 10 am. A doctor may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance. House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability. Prescriptions Generally The Practice is not a dispensing practice and you must take prescriptions to a Pharmacist unless it is more convenient for you to have them picked up by one of the pharmacies that have a daily collection of prescriptions from the Practice. What is a repeat Prescription? A Repeat Prescription is one where your GP has authorised repeat issues of medication in your medical record which is valid until your next review check is due. You will be asked to come in to see the doctor at regular intervals to review your repeat medication. Which may involve changes to your tablets, in accordance with current Health Board policies. Please be reassured this will not affect your treatment. In an emergency For repeat medications, some pharmacists may issue a short supply of your prescription. This is at the discretion of the pharmacist, and you must renew your prescription as soon as possible, to ensure you always have medication on hand. Online Simply register for online access at the Practice, you will be given a letter with access codes, these are required to register for online access, follow the link on the Repeat Prescription Page . By telephone If you are on regular treatment we can issue a repeat prescription. if you telephone 0141 - 211 6999 choose Option 2, leave your details; the prescription can be collected after 48 hours. By hand You should simply tick the items you need on the counterfoil of your last prescription. There is no need for an accompanying letter and, if you are bringing your request to reception, we prefer that you do not use an envelope. Please add on the top right hand corner of your request if you wish it to go to a Pharmacist as listed below. These are Pharmacies that have an arranged uplift service from us: Thistle Pharmacy (Dumbarton Road) Lloyds Pharmacy (Alderman Road) Lloyds Pharmacy (Dyke Road) Lloyds Pharmacy (Knightswood Shopping Centre) Boots (Whitecrook) Willis Pharmacy (Dumbarton Road) If you do not have your counterfoil, simply write your name, address, date of birth and a list of the required medication on a piece of paper. You should ask for your repeat medication well in advance of needing it, please allow up to 48 hours. Please ask for everything you will need during the next month as it will be easier for us than dealing with several prescriptions for one individual during the course of a month. Please remember that we deal with a large number of prescription requests every day and it is difficult for the staff and the doctors to process last minute urgent requests. For Delivery We can also arrange delivery by a local pharmacy for housebound patient. Prescription collection Your prescription will be kept here for collection and will only be posted if you have supplied a stamped addressed envelope. If you are using the postal service to send your request and receive your prescription back, we suggest you allow seven days. What should I do If I require repeat medication, out of hours You should ensure you have adequate medication according to the advice of the doctor you normally see. The Out of Hours Service are not able to prescribe routine repeat medication.

The time we take to prepare your prescription allows your doctor adequate time to check your request and review your medication where appropriate. We believe this system ensures a high standard of care. Please avoid asking our staff to process your request any quicker.
