YOKER MEDICAL CENTRE

Text Box: Appointments
We are moving to a hybrid system using; telephone consultations / Face to Face consultations with our General Practitioners and Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

All our appointments are Triage appointments, they are available every day. You will be triaged that day. Please help the GPs/ANP by telling the
receptionist at the GPs/ANP request a short description what the
appointment is for.

We also offer pre-bookable Triage appointments, which can be booked a
couple of weeks in advance.

We also offer late pre-bookable Triage appointments suitable for people that work and cannot take calls during normal working hours.

If you require a home visit, please try to telephone before 10 am. A doctor may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance. House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Extended Hours
There are appointments available every week on Mondays between
07:15-08.30 and 17:30-18:45 for those patients who cannot have a
consultation during the normal surgery times.

Practice nurses
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a Practice Nurse rather than a doctor. Practice Nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.

Interpreter
If you require an interpreter, this can be arranged with advance notice, by the receptionist.

Cancellations
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible to allow us to offer the appointment slot to someone else.

Missed appointments
If you miss 3 appointments without notifying reception in advance that you are unable to attend, we will write to you and ask you to register elsewhere. The demand for appointments is high and the surgery cannot cope with
repeated wasted appointments.

Chaperone for Medical Examination
If you require a chaperone for an intimate medical examination, whether you are male or female and whether you are the same or opposite sex to the
doctor or nurse, you are welcome to bring a friend or family member with you to your appointment. Alternatively, we are happy to provide a chaperone, but would ask that you please inform the receptionist in advance.
